About Me

Are you facing obstacles that keep you from living the life you want? Do you find it difficult to give and receive the love you need from others? Do you want to explore your feelings, thoughts, and actions with someone who will listen with compassion?

I believe therapy should be a safe place where you can talk about anything that is bothering you without being shamed or criticized. Together, you and I will figure out the best way to approach and deal with the unique troubles that led you to seek counseling. Throughout the process of therapy, I will work to cultivate an environment that is emotionally healing for you. As this happens, you will likely feel more at ease to explore the difficulties you face. I will join you in your exploration, doing my best not only to understand your experience of yourself, others, and the world around you, but also to add new perspectives that may be helpful for you as you navigate your life and its challenges. It is through these experiences in therapy that I believe you can have the greatest potential to grow, heal, and find greater meaning in life. Because everyone's experiences and needs are different, you and I will work together to evaluate how long your therapy should last and the best approaches to take.

My Experience

Most of my experience is with adults of all ages, and I have been conducting individual and group counseling for over six years. I have helped people struggling with depression, anxiety, mood swings, relationship problems, life transitions, family issues, grief and loss, trauma, questions of spirituality and meaning, GLBTQIQ issues, racial and gender oppression, and cultural issues. I have particular experience counseling people facing problems related to alcohol and other drugs. Prior to my work at the Banyan Tree, I have conducted therapy in alcohol and drug treatment centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and college counseling centers.

My Education

I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of Georgia.

What to Expect from Me

I am available for individual counseling by appointment Mondays through Fridays from late morning to early evening. If those times do not work for you, my schedule can be somewhat more flexible on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Banyan Tree Center at 706-850-7041 to set up an appointment with me.
