About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My undergraduate degree was in Family Devlelopment from the University of Georgia and my Clinical Masters Degree was in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University. I have practiced since 1978 in the metro-Atlanta and Athens area. I now reside in Watkinsville, GA and am an associate with the Banyan Tree Counseling Center.
I have been married to Stan Fricks, a teacher and Head Baseball Coach at Oconee County High School for 35 years. We built our family through adoption and have a 19 year old son, Ben, and a 13 year old daughter Melissa.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, cooking, reading and playing with my family pet dog, Emmie.
My Experience
I have always enjoyed working with individuals, couples and families during times of transition. At present I primarily work with individuals and couples who have encountered difficulty in adding children to their lives. I provide counseling to those who have experienced pregnancy loss and stillbirth. I also work with couples who are exploring using reproductive technology to assist in becoming pregnant. I am able to do evaluations for couples wanting to use IVF, Egg Donation, Sperm Donation, Embryo Adoption or Surrogacy as a way of conceiving and carrying a pregnancy.
I also have a love for working with senior adults and their families. I am able to provide counsel to caregivers, adult children and other family members dealing with senior care information and referrals to sources of care.
